What is an MRI or CT scanner worth? An MRI equipment appraisal comes down to three things.

One. Configuration sets the value. Field strength, slice count, coils, and software options separate scanners with the same model name. Options are licensed to the system, and a buyer may have to license them again.

Two. The tube and the magnet carry the history. On a CT, tube life shows in the scan seconds. On an MRI, the helium level and the cold head can decide whether the magnet is a working system.

Three. The room stays behind. Shielding, the RF cage, chillers, and power belong to the building. Removal, rigging, and re-siting are real costs, and the premise of value decides whether they count.
