What this policy covers

This policy applies to lukesappraisals.com and to the information you provide when you contact us or start an appraisal request. It does not cover the separate, engagement-level handling of the confidential materials in an active appraisal, which is governed by your engagement agreement with us.

Information we collect

• Information you give us: your name, company, email, phone number, the reason for the appraisal, and the asset details, photographs and records you send so we can scope and perform the work.
• Information collected automatically: standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring page, gathered through website analytics to understand how the site is used.

The appraisal request form

The request form on this site is our own. What you enter and the files you attach are stored in a private database and private file storage on Google Cloud (Firebase), accessible only to us, and used only to respond to your request and scope the appraisal. While you fill in the form, your answers (not your files) are also kept in your own browser so you can return to it; they are cleared when you send the request, or when you choose "Start fresh".

Analytics and cookies

We use website analytics to measure traffic and improve the site. Analytics may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site remains usable without them. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.

Two providers are in use. Google Analytics reports aggregate traffic: pages viewed, referring source, and clicks on our contact links. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, through heatmaps and playback of a session's scrolling, clicks and mouse movement, so we can see where a page is confusing.

Clarity masks text content by default, and the contact details you type into our appraisal request form are masked as well. Microsoft uses the data it collects under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. To opt out of both on this browser, open any page on this site with ?ll_optout=1 at the end of the address, or use your browser's Do Not Track and cookie controls.

Session records and confidentiality

Session playback covers this public website only, including which steps of the request form a visitor reached, with typed text masked. It does not reach the files you attach, your email to us, or any material inside an active engagement. Asset lists, photographs and records you send are handled under the confidentiality terms of your engagement and never appear in analytics.

How we use your information

We use the information to respond to inquiries, scope and perform appraisal work, communicate with you about your request, operate and improve the website, and meet our professional and legal obligations. We do not quote a value before inspection, and we do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (such as the intake form processor and analytics provider), when you ask us to, or when required by law or to protect our rights. Confidential appraisal materials are handled under the confidentiality terms of your engagement.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you share, and we treat the asset lists, photographs and records you provide as confidential. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you have given us, decline to provide information (which may limit our ability to scope a request), and control cookies through your browser. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children

This website is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We will revise the date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
